Tools for Inventor Applications
BOM Tools: Inventor
BOM Tools for Inventor has been developed to export Autodesk Inventor’s Bill of Materials to Excel, including each part’s thumbnail or image as listed in the BOM. Other properties like Part Number, Description, and Material etc. are also included and exported to the Excel file.
An additional option to include model parameters has been added which makes it useful to include sizing information like cut lengths or sheet metal flat pattern extents inside the Excel file with the thumbnail of your part. This is very useful for downstream processing purposes and eliminates error prone manual work-flows. BOM Tools for Inventor now includes the ability to export the “Structured”, “Structured with All levels” or “Parts Only” Bill of Materials to Excel.
The standard version of BOM Tools has been discontinued. All BOM Tools users can upgrade to BOM Tools Pro completely free of charge.
DXF Flat Pattern Exporter: Inventor
Export your whole Inventor Assembly’s sheet metal parts’ Flat Patterns to DXF in one go. Besides exporting Flat Patterns, the application also inserts the Part Number, Material, Thickness and Quantity properties inside each Flat Pattern DXF file!
Options are provided to simplify the exported geometry to make the file readable in any CNC software removing duplicate or double lines where possible. All profiles are re-based to the positive quadrant and can be configured to only contain Cut lines. No clean-up required afterwards.
AutoDraw: Inventor
With AutoDRAW you can automatically create idw drawings of Inventor parts and assemblies. AutoDRAW can detect for which parts and assemblies you have not created drawings yet and can assist you to create those using a template you define.
Drawing Porter: Inventor
Drawing Porter is a batch print and export tool for Autodesk Inventor. It is assembly focussed/based and determines which drawings and parts are relevant based on the single assembly file you select.
Duct Pro: Inventor
Duct Pro is a simple and affordable sheet metal duct design add-on for Inventor. It runs side by side with Autodesk Inventor and automates the creation of standard sheet metal duct components.
Design Cloner: Inventor
Design Cloner is a Copy Design tool for Inventor. It provides some nifty part selection tools to make it easy to select and copy the correct Inventor components to another folder.
InventorBench: Inventor
InventorBench is an application to benchmark test your Inventor PC to determine performance values which can be compared to other PC’s running Inventor. InventorBench will generate a detailed list of performance values plus an overall “Inventor PC Index” or IPI. In can perform three main tests looking at your PC’s Inventor modelling, graphics and drawing creation performance. Benchmark results can easily be exported to Excel format and all your PC’s results can then be appended to one Excel file.
Tools for Inventor Libraries
Rexroth Aluminium Extrusion Library
The Rexroth extrusion library has been compiled to be used with Inventor’s Content Centre as well as Inventor’s Frame Generator design tool. Inventor’s Content Centre does not contain any aluminium extrusion profiles by default so this is a necessary add-on if you use the Rexroth extrusion system for design and manufacturing. Each section has its own unique Stock No, Part No and File Name, all automatically generated and mapped to the parts iProperties for use in BOM tables and Parts Lists. This makes the steel sections easily identifiable within the Inventor part/assembly environment as well as in parts lists on Inventor drawing documentation.
Modular Aluminium Extrusion Library
The Modular Assembly Technology extrusion library has been compiled to be used with Inventor’s Content Centre as well as Inventor’s Frame Generator design tool. Inventor’s Content Centre does not contain any aluminium extrusion profiles by default so this is a necessary add-on if you use the Modular Assembly Technology extrusion system for design and manufacturing.
MiniTec Aluminium Extrusion Library
The MiniTec extrusion library has been compiled to be used with Inventor’s Content Centre as well as Inventor’s Frame Generator design tool. Inventor’s Content Centre does not contain any aluminium extrusion profiles by default so this is a necessary add-on if you use the MiniTec extrusion system for design and manufacturing.
SABS / SANS Steel Library
For Inventor
The SABS / SANS Structural Steel Library for Inventor was created consisting of all the steel sections used in South Africa, available from local steel suppliers and listed by SABS / SANS.
This single steel library has been compiled to be used with Inventor’s Content Center as well as Frame Generator. By having a single library time is saved by preventing confusion having to use scattered content across the different standard Inventor libraries, and a reduction in time searching for the section you want.
Standardised steel section names are being applied and used so that your parts are easily identified and recognized by your customers or structural steel suppliers in South Africa.
